Information in the Greater Sedona Directory of New Age, Religions and Wellness Resources is drawn from a variety of public and community sources. Because Sedona’s religious and spiritual landscape changes frequently, no single source provides a complete picture.
Primary sources include the websites and social-media pages of congregations, spiritual organizations, New Age centers, wellness practitioners, and other organizations listed in the directory. Information is also gathered through site visits, local directories, community publications, maps, organizational literature, and direct contact when appropriate.
For established religious bodies, denominational and organizational directories are used when available. New Age, metaphysical, alternative spiritual, and wellness organizations often have less formal institutional structures, so their websites, event listings, practitioner directories, and local networks are particularly important sources.
Historical information is drawn from published books and articles, local histories, archives, newspapers, and other materials relating to Sedona and the Verde Valley. A selection of books and scholarly publications useful for understanding the area’s religious and spiritual culture is provided separately under Published Sources / Further Reading.
The directory is continually updated. Organizations change names and locations, new groups appear, and others cease operating. Readers who identify outdated information or know of a resource that should be included are encouraged to contact the project.
